The Chicago Tribune has a good timeline of what's going on with Drew. Is it just me or is this thing taking a really long time? I know he's been in jail for several years waiting for this to go to trial, but holy crap.Come on,let's get moving.
The jury went to deliberate the fate of Drew Peterson today [Wed]. I'm honestly a little worried he may just get away with this. So far the jurors have asked to see specific documents and the judge has either refused or given them highly redacted documents.
WTF is that about? How are they supposed to make an educated, informed decision as to his guilt or innocence? I know,I know he's already been convicted in the court of public opinion but that isn't going to put him behind bars for 60 years, which is what he's looking at. This link comes from MSNBC.
YEAH!!! YEAH! You are guilty you piece of !!! You are going down homeboy. Have a nice life behind bars, you pathetic piece of crap!!!!!!!!!! This just made my day.
I scooped you. I was on my twitter account doing the verdict watch on #Dateline. Now watching the coverage on HLN. I hope that sausage fuc----uh,I mean,I hope someone makes him sqeal like the pig he is.
I was watching Jane Velez-Mitchell and found out that the state of IL has no death penalty so the most he can get is 60 years. I knew that figure but didn't know they have no DP there which honestly, kind of bums me out. I mean,I've been pro DP for a long time but you have to REALLY prove it to me. Don't just run your mouth with circumstantial crap. If a woman tells people,He's going to kill me and get away with it and she turns up dead? Then the husband tells the dead woman's brother when asked if he was responsible,"Let them prove it"?
It doen't take Steven Hawking to figure out that 2+2=4,here people. And he is never going to say what happened to Stacy and damn that makes me mad. Total sociopathic behavior. Grrrrr.
The lack of justice in all this makes me want to projectile vomit. Just seriously. Yeah I'm a jerk,I'm judgemental,I suck, bring it. Screw you and screw Drew too.
Sorry you guys, I'm being insanely one sided in all this, but this isn't objective journalism. This is a discussion board and what I wanna discuss is how creepy I think this dude is. Sorry!!
And the saga continues....now that he has been sentenced in the murder of his 3rd wife, prosecutors are now putting together a case against him in the disappearence of his 4th wife. His 4th wife, Stacy, disappeared in 2007, and her body has never been found. The children she shared with Drew are being raised by Drew's oldest son from a previous marriage.
Drew's son from a previous marraige? WTF,you don't mean one of the boys he had with Kathleen Savio,do you? I know they are both 18 and over now.....no,no that can't be right.
and occasionally, I do go off and villianize somone. I'm human. So are you. Maybe I've given this dude a lot of bad bad press over the years. And I read through this thread and thought, wow, we really gave this man a hard time. He gets one thread here, and I brought this up again because he's been charged with solicitation of murder for hire after trying to have the prosecutor in his 2012 trial of the murder of Kathleen Savio killed.
He is serving a 38 year sentance in that case.
I'm not going to edit this thread. I stand by everything I said. He's a sociopath, a cold blooded killer, and he has no remorse. He just tried to have someone killed again.....allegedly. I'm sorry, but that is far too likely to be true than false. You decide. Link. I'll look for video.
This just came across my radar today even though it's a little old. It looks like Drew is trying to run this charge under the radar by fast tracking his trial for the charge that he had a professional hit put out on Will County State's Attorney James Glasgow who prosecute him for the murder of his 3rd wife Kathleen Savio. By trying to fast track the trial, his new lawyer said :
"Basically, we don't want this case tried before a jury is ever impaneled."
A trial was set for late July.
No editorial comments necessary. I've already gone on at length about this about this guy. Here's your link.
MSN/AP: Drew Peterson is asking for more time to prepare for his trial for soliciting murder against Will County DA James Glasgow, and the court has granted his request. His trial date has been moved from mid July to August 28th. His lawyer, Lucas Liefer, said on Friday theat the 61 year old former police officer could not possibly be ready for a July trial date.
Okay. So, if we believe the other reports that he was trying to fast track this because [I assume] they didn't want the whole circus to start what the shenanigans are they doing now? Liefer said, "Basically, we don't want this case tried before a jury is even impaneled." So that's not a totally giant assumption. It's not like Drew has some pressing business elsewhere to attend to....like looking for his missing wife Stacey.....oh yeah, I forgot. He says she ran off with another man. Sure she did Drew. And I'm really a multimillionaire married to Batman. Here's your link.
No one inside is allowed the privileges Drew has been afforded. He will die inside but he is not going to have a hard life. Wonder how many he killed On Duty and swept under the rug. How many other women that turned down his advances... How much evidence he fabricated...
Thank you! I have long believed he fabricated evidence, especially in the death of Kathleen Savio. They re-opened her case after Stacey went missing and he was convicted of murder. This dude is a killer. Who knows what else he did while he was a cop. I have a hard time believing he was one of the good guys.
MSN/AP: Drew Peterson's lawers have won yet another delay in the trial against him in the matter of him trying to hire someone to kill the prosecutor who got him convicted of killing his third wife Kathleen Savio.
The trial was to start next month, but the judge gave them until November 13 to prepare another expert who will review taped conversations between Peterson and a prison informant.
Funny, it's hard to believe they would do this for just any idiot off the street. But he is an idiot so what do I know?
From The Chicago-Sun Times: This short piece lists some of the motions a judge has to consider in the case of Drew Peterson, who is accused of hiring someone to kill the prosecutor who put him away for murdering his 3rd wife, Kathleen Savio.
Peterson is requesting that evidence from a wiretap be excluded as it was improperly obtained. Peterson is arguing that the attorney [James Glasgow] should have deferred prosecution of him,and the case of the murder of Kathleen to a special prosecutor. How and why that should eliminate the evidence from a wiretap in which he potentially orders the murder of an attorney, I don't get, but we all know I'm not a lawyer.
If you know, feel free to step up and school me. Trial still set for November 13th.
While I was digging around, I found a link to the documentary CNN produced, "Married To A Murderer".
I've seen most of it, it is pretty good. I have a hard time watching this guy because as I've said time and again, I really think he's responsible for Stacy's..... whatever happened to Stacy. The thing is, and the doc goes into really good detail about Kathleen's trying to get help from the Bollingbrook Police department, the department he worked for, because Drew beat the out of that poor woman. He threatened to kill her and she wrote a letter going over his miserable head, saying,"...he's going to kill me..." and they didn't do a damn thing.
And she's dead. And where's Stacy? We know where Drew is, but that's not good enough for me. Where is Stacy?
According to NBC Chicago, the Illinois Supreme Court has agreed to hear an appeal in the case of convicted murderer Drew Peterson, whose wife Kathleen Savio was found dead in 2004 in her home. It was allegedly classified as a drowning [in her own bathtub] but after the disappearance of Stacy Cales Peterson, who he began a relationship with while still divorcing Savio {Stacy was only 17, Drew was 47] it was investigated again and Peterson was convicted of her death.
Lawyers have asked the high court to toss the conviction saying he was denied a fair trial on the grounds that hearsay evidence and other errors lead to his conviction. Peterson is still waiting to stand trial for allegedly trying to hire someone to kill the prosecutor who prosecuted him in the death of Kathleen Savio.
MSN/Crimefeed: Jurors are set this week to hear arguments that Drew Peterson, the former Bollingbrook IL police officer that was found guilty of killing his third wife Kathleen Savio and the unrelated disappearance of his fourth wife, Stacy Cales-Peterson in the trial that he is accused of trying to order a hit man to kill the DA who put him in prison.
Everyone is innocent untill proven guilty, right? But honey baby, it's pretty hard to imagine he's got the most pure of intentions when it comes to the system he couldn't beat.
From Joliet Patch: Okay, I didn't read this whole thing, I have to be honest. It's a 10+ page pdf of testimony from what is described as a "jailhouse snitch" who wore a wire to narc on Drew Peterson and who supposedly heard Drew threaten to hire a hit man to kill the prosecutor who put him in prison for the murder of his third wife Kathleen Savio.
The article states that prosecutors would not reveal who made the transcripts or how they were put together. That sounds shady to me, and although I've made my opinion on this matter clear, he has the right to a fair trial. If this evidence was improperly obtained it shouldn't be allowed. Find another avenue. There's more than one way to trap a rat.
MSN/Chicago Tribune: The defense rested it's case Friday after three inmates testified that the star witness in the state's case in the murder for hire trial is an untruthful scam artist.
Their words, not mine.
So, you can read this whole thing but the gist of it is that the dude the state got to wear a wire recorded hours of conversation with Peterson, age 62 and serving a 38 year sentence for the murder of his third wife, Kathleen Savio. They chatted it up about how to cook meals in their cells, sexual conquests, plans to hook with a Mexican drug cartel to sell drugs when they get out of prison to sell drugs [career planning?] and general prison gossip.
The thing that gets me about all this, and I've never read it before is that in 2013 Peterson told Glasglow, the man he's accused to trying to hire the hit on, that "All aspects of my life have been destroyed." He further says that Glasglow is "cel.brating the fact that he perpetuated the largest railroad job in the history of this country."
