BREAKING NEWS: MASS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL SHOOTING IN NEWTOWN, CT

There has been a major school shooting at an elementary school in Newtown, CT. Up to 20 people have been killed, and at least 10 of those people were children :( Details at this time are sketchy and are being verified...but allegedly, two gunmen burst into the school and opened fire. Turn on your local and national news stations to get updates to the story... and pray for all the victims and their families.

Very sad, sad, and unfathomable update to this horrific story... there was ONE gunman, not two, as first reported. The gunman opened fire int he principla's office, and the kindergarden class. Sadly, almost all of the victims who were killed were the kindergarden children, along with their teacher. The kindergarden teacher was the mother of the gunman. I can't even begin to imagine what the hell was going thru the shooter's mind that he felt he had to take out a kindergarden class. Please hug your kids extra tight tonight, and please pray for these families... many of these families had most likely already prepared Christmas for their children, who are now gone with God. Christmas will never again be the same for these people.

Update 2... officials confirm that a total of 20 children were killed, and 6 adults were killed. Gunman is dead..though it has yet to be confirmed if he killed himself or was killed by police.

MSNBC is saying the gunman killed himself. Now I haven't seen any proof of this but I'm stressed out by all this and I don't want to to turn on the tv just yet.

CNN is reporting the body of Adam Lanza has been claimed by his father. They had been estranged for years and Adam had cut his father out of his life. This is a great link it's got good video. You know,I keep thinking about that email from.....whoever it was telling me nobody cared about Columbine anymore and for me to get over it.

Really? Seriously? You want me to get over it? You want me to get over this too? This kid shot his own mother,a kindergarden teacher while she slept in her own bed,with her own gun. YOU get over it. God.

People who say stupid crap like that are idiots. School shootings are becoming more and more commonplace.... don't get me started on a gun control debate.

As far as Adam Lanza's body being claimed... yes, he was a monster who shot and killed his mother, other adults, and lots of little kids. But he also was a son and brother who had a family that loved him, tried to help him, and lived with the struggle of having a loved one who had severe mental issues. That's not an easy thing to do. I can't imagine what his father and brother are going thru... but I can understand them claiming his body.

I get all kinds of junk and speculative crap and I usually don't post most of it because most of it is just that:JUNK. But I'm gonna post this one because it made me a little uncomfortable. I reviewed some of the so called evidence and I don't know.....it just seems weird. I think it was the gun thing. If you watch it,watch BOTH PARTS so you can see what I'm talking about the gun thing. Have you heard of something called ShockedBeyondBelief.com? It has a whole bunch of stuff about that kid who shot up the school at Sandy Hook, Adam Lanza. I saw this page and I started to read it but had to get on the train so I couldn't finish. I think the site is defunct but take a look at what is left. Crazy.

Dude! Where'd you find this? This is some bizarre sh--. Okay. Again, I'm not saying any of this is true. I certainly never heard some of the allegations that are being made here, like that Eric Harris was raped [and with my Columbine deal, I swear, I would have read that SOMEWHERE] or that Adam hero worshipped Eric and Dylan but I didn't study this case. Plenty of reading here for anyone who wishes to go there. Thanks mate. Call me tomorrow.

Normally I wouldn't add something off topic but since I commented above that I never read that Eric had been raped it got under my skin that it was supposed to be some big conspiracy and the great annarocket didn't know about it. Annoying, right?

So I spent a couple of hours reading and this is what I found. It actually is a great link because it has the transcripts of the Columbine Basement tapes, the 4 tapes that Eric and Dylan made that have not been viewed by the public. Time Magazine published it when the printed transcript was released. I guess lot of noise HAS been made over if Eric had been raped and that it came up in connection with Adam Lanza [I know, he was raped too and he worshipped E+D] is almost too big a stretch for me. But see for yourself.

I'm bringing back an old thread because I just watched the documentary, "Newtown" about the shooting at Sandy Hook by Adam Lanza. I realize we've had a lot of comments that Sandy Hook was a hoax, that Adam Lanza wasn't a real person and never existed.

I don't know if I believe that. I have seen a lot of speculation about it but no concrete proof that this was all a giant stunt aimed to help lobby stricter gun laws. Anything is possible but based on everything I've seen or read, I really believe this happened.

The film is full of wide sweeping shots of a beautiful Connecticut town, complete with homes that sport white picket fences and Range Rovers in the driveways. The children are happily smiling, laughing and getting ready for Christmas with trees and choir concerts. It is a picture of the classic American dream...until you remember you are viewing a place that was ripped apart by a young man who murdered his mother, then went to the elementary school, shot and killed 20 children and 6 adults, then killed himself.

Most of the film's focus is on the victims and their families. Very little time is spent talking about Adam, or his mother, Nancy Lanza, who provided the firearms used in the attack. Adam's room is shown briefly in crime scene footage and it is an alien landscape, unlike most rooms of a young man his age. There are no posters on the walls, no stereo with stacks of cd's or video games, the windows blacked out. After the shootings had been prosecuted, the Lanza house was demolished, thinking it was too notorious to be sold or rented.

The grief of the parents is raw and you can't help feeling their sorrow. The loss of a child is something unimaginable. It goes through the stages and shows a memorial event called the Highland Annual Mudfest where all the participants are asked, "Do you promise to live life to it's fullest? Do you promise to cherish family and friends? Do you promise to love, laugh and enjoy this moment?" As the participants all yell,"Yes!!" you want to believe there has been some healing and some redemption. But if we have learned anything in all this, it might be that when we become complacent with life's blessings, they are taken away from us without warning. Let us all never take for granted the love and light in our lives.
