The Strange Case Of Timothy Pitzen

The Today Show continued its coverage today of the incredible story of the 3 Ohio women, abducted  and held prisoner for over a decade, and who are now free.  In their coverage this morning, they showed pictures of missing children.  One of those children is Timothy Pitzen, who was kidnapped in 2011 by his mother.  His mother is now dead, and Timothy remains missing.   The 3rd anniversary of his abduction/disappearence is just a couple of days away.

Timothy was abducted by his mother, on the morning of May 11, 2011 in Aurora, Ill.  They then took a strange roadtrip, and somewhere on that roadtrip is where Timothy vanished.  His mother was  found dead a couple of days later in a hotel room in Rockford, Il.  She had committed suicide.  Timothy was gone when her body was found.  In the suicide letter she left at her death scene, she indicated that she had left Timothy in the care of people that would love him... but no one has seen or heard from Timothy since the day his mother checked him out of kindergarten.

During the course of the investigation, there was NO EVIDENCE, of any kind, uncovered that would help explain why Timothy's mother would vanish with her son, or why she would commit suicide.  There is nothing to suggest that any type of danger or abuse was going on in Timothy's home that would compel his mother to take him and run.

Timothy's father is left with a horrible burden to carry... his son is missing, his wife is dead, and he has no idea what in the world possesed his wife to kidnap their son and take her own life.   The only evidence that police have released to the public to indicate that Timothy is alive is the suicide note... but no one has come forward claiming they have Timothy, and given his mother's mental state at the time of his abduction, it's possible that she killed him.

As the 3rd anniversary of Timothy's abduction and disappearence approaches,  let's get his face out there again, and hope and pray that Timothy comes home very soon.

CNN's show "The Hunt" is profiling the case of Timmothy Pitzen.

On May 11,2011, Timmothy's mom Amy Fry-Pitzen took her young son out of school and they left on a road trip from which they never returned. The boy's father has not seen nor heard from Amy since. She was found dead, of an apparent suicide. She left behind a note indicating that her son was fine and with people who would take care of him. "You'll never find him," her suicide note read.

If you've seen Timmothy or know of his whereabouts, please call 1-866-THE-HUNT.

CNN's "The Hunt With John Walsh" shows at 9 pm ET Sunday August 30.

From Crime Watch Daily:

The case of Timothy Pitzen has never been closed and no one has been able to solve the whereabouts of where his mother took him before she killed herself.

I'm not 100% sure why this is fresh news but maybe they know something we don't. Tremendously sad.

We're thinking of you, little man.
