50 Movies Based On True Crimes From The Folks At Movie Pilot Director

If you feel like deviating from your true crime fixation but still can't break free of the seamy underbelly of life, Movie Pilot has 50 selections for you to sift through and find a movie that might be to your taste this weekend. I haven't seen all these films but I have seen quite a few so I'll tell you which I've seen and like the most. But if wanna hit up a couple of others, by all means. There's at least one that I've seen that is really rough. I liked it but...well, it's me, LOL. I'm kind of used to that sort of thing.

*Dog Day Afternoon [1975] Al Pacino stars as a bank robber who's failed attempt at a downtown heist turns him into a hero and makes The Man the bad guy.

*Henry:Portrait of A Serial Killer [1986] Based on the life of serial killer Henry Lee Lucas who claimed he murdered over 600 victims although this claim has been highly disputed. The film follows him through his life of extreme poverty and violence. Not NSFW and not really safe if you've eaten anything either.

*Goodfellas [1990] One of my favorite movies of all time, this follows three decades in the mafia behind the eyes of gangster from the ground up, Henry Hill, as played by Ray Liotta. Classic award winning Martin Scorsese.

*Monster [2003] Charlize Theron won a well deserved Oscar for her role as prostitute/killer Aileen Wurnos who killed her first victim out of self defense, but then turned it into a method of survival for herself and her lover, played by Christina Ricci.

*Wonderland [2003] I'M OBSESSED WITH THIS MOVIE! I always wanted to write about this!! In 1981, a quadruple homicide occured on Wonderland Avenue that involved massive amounts of sex, drugs and the porn star John Holmes. Val Kilmer is mindblowingly psychotic, Kate Bosworth is his wafish girlfriend and Lisa Kudrow his perpertually horrified wife. With a funny little cameo of Paris Hilton, if you're not all hung up about sex/drugs/violence run out and watch this.

I've seen others that are really good, like The Wolf of Wall Street, Devil's Knot, The Bling Ring and Alpha Dog. So pick a flick, kick back and enjoy your day.

See y'all tomorrow, after I torture my knee with some PT.    evileye   Here's your link.
