On August 28,2006 Jim Kirk walked out to the backyard of his home and saw his son Nate at the shallow end of their pool, drowned.
Nate was only in 2 feet of water and had multiple contusions. One to the head, chest, nose and several to the legs. Most frightning of all,Nate had a needle puncture mark left anticubetal fossa, meaning in his left arm and fresh, within four hours of his death. Nate hated needles,he had no piercings and no tattoos. Why would he have a needle mark in his arm?
The paramedics were called, Nate was unfortunately dead and could not be revived. The EMT's did not try to start an IV,therefore no needle mark was made by them in trying to revive him.In fact, the report I read, there were no recessitation efforts.Nate was dead and they did nothing to him.
They Maricopa County Medical Examiners Office out of Phoenix,Arizona did the original autopsy and made a number of gross miscalculations, including not noting the injuries to Nate's scalp and nose, and the puncture from the needle in Nate's arm. Two weeks after Nate's autopsy,Dr. Phillip Keen who had been the chief medical examiner for 14 years was suddenly demoted. The Kirk family hired a private forensic pathologist to investigate. They had many doubts about the negligence and incapibility of the people running the investigation.
Mostly because Nate had his life threatened and when the information was passed on,nothing was done with it and noone was seriously investigated.
I invite you to check out the MySpace page of Nate's father,Jim Kirk.He is looking not for sympathy. He is looking for justice. Is that not why we are on this very website? I honestly believe this man and his family deserve another shot by the system. The system has failed them, and their beautiful son,who was loved and missed by so many. Please join me in supporting the Kirk family.
this is so sad, I added him as a friend, I know that there isn't much I can do but I will give my prayers and support. What a tragedy. Thanks Anna for bringing this to our attention.
