Legendary crime writer Dominick Dunne rushed from OJ trial to hospital

Las Vegas,Nevada: Dominick Dunne, crime writer who has covered such cases as the Menendez brothers murder of their parents, the Phil Spector case, the murder trial of OJ Simpson's wife Nicole and Ronald Goldman was rushed from the courtroom yesterday after complaining of "a lot of pain".

Dunne is covering the Simpson trial of his ALLEGED kidnapping and theft with a deadly weapon to recover SUPPOSEDLY stolen items from a Las Vegas collector, for the magazine Vanity Fair.

It was made known at that time that Dunne is suffering from bladder cancer. His work is world recognized, and has had an impact on how true crime journalism has been written ever since. In 1982 his only daughter,Dominique was murdered by her former boyfriend and recieved a very light sentance, leading him  to act upon the adage that the pen is mightier than the sword. He is truely an innovator in our field and a personal inspiration to me as a true crime author.

Please join me in wishing Mr. Dunne our best.   evileye

Oh this makes me so sad!!!! His show Power, Privilige, & Justice is my most favorite show on tv! I am sad that there may never be any new shows. The format of the show and his voice can never be outdone, imo :o)

I hope he recovers!

I read this GREAT article in Vanity Fair's October issue that had had the most amazing piece by Mr. Dunne. He talked all abaout how he was a celebrity writer and interviewed Elizabeth Taylor and showed him in front of the Acadamy Awards.

Then his daughter was murdered and man! You just have to see the character of the man being shaped into the person we know as the the great true crime journalist that we all respect so much today.

If you get a chance, pick up a copy.It has an unbelievable portrait of Marilyn Monroe on the cover, and yes Jill,I didn't forget I am going to send you one.      evileye
