So, in light of Drew Peterson and all his nonsense, I wanted to bring attention to a case that has stayed in the news in the city I live in. The husband in this case is basically the South's version of Drew Peterson. The cases have many eerie similiarities.
A brief background: Theresa Parker was a 911 operator with the Walker County Sheriff's Dept (which is one county over from which I live.) Her estranged hubby was a police officer with a different department. On March 21st, 2007 she disappeared, and no trace of her has been found. The last person to see her alive was her estranged hubby, on the night she disappeared. The last person to have any contact with her at all was her sister, also on the night she disappeared. Her estranged husband is also using the same claim as Drew Peterson is using in his case (that his wife ran off to be with another man.)
That is getting to be a tired excuse..."She ran off with another man." And if by some chance she did,it was probably to get away from an abuser.
Still,I believe she would have contacted her family. They did make an arrest in this case, another cop that worked with her husband but I don't know what became of that. Probably nothing or we'd find out.
So far he's been charged with her murder, but that's all that's happened with the case. And lately, it's been very hush hush in the local media here. There hasn't been any kind of trial yet, and most tragic of all, Theresa Parker still hasn't been found.
I'm not sure why the media has suddenly laid off of this. Because it was in the media for months. Her story even made shows like Nancy Grace and America's Most Wanted. The only thing I can assume is they're putting everything they have together for the trial and don't want to jepordize the case. I do grieve for her family though, because there is still no closure for them. They still haven't found any trace of her, and her estranged husband continues to deny he had anything to do with her disappreance, so they still don't have any answers.
Hahahahaha, me a lawyer hahahaha. That brings a huge smile to my face, for reasons I can't disclose on here hahaha. Anyway, FINALLY an update on this case!
The trial for her estranged hubby is set to begin Aug 17th. They still have not found her body, he still claims he's innocent, that she's not dead and has run off with another man. We shall see what happens. I hope he fries.
Sorry gals, I've been busy. The trial has finally begun. In fact, it's almost over with. Sorry I couldn't tell you this before now, haven't had a chance! Anyway, while they still haven't found Theresa, they have shown exactly how psycho her estranged hubby is, how scared she was of him, and how scared many other people currently are of him. He not only had domestic violence issues with Theresa, he had them with other ex girlfriends and ex wives as well. He threatened violence towards himself, and the families of almost every woman he's ever dated seriously or married. He's a lot more whacko than I thought. He was expected to take the stand in his own defense, but as of yesterday, has not done so. One thing Sam Parker has said, actually bragged about, to almost anyone who would listen to his nonsense is "I could bury a body in rural Wlaker County, Ga and no one would ever find it." He actually used that threat towards numerous women, including Theresa, her sisters, and mother. They've also introduced compelling physical evidence that can tie him to at least harming Theresa on the night she disappeared. We'll see what the jury says. I'll let you all know when they return with the verdict.
Well, Sam Parker will be doing time, but it's anyone's guess right now. He's facing numerous charges, including murder. On the murder charge, the jury is split 8-4, so far ( I was afraid this might happen.) On the charges of making false statements, violation of oath of office, and computer invasion of privacy, they have reached guilty verdicts. They are still in deliberations at this time as to the murder charge. Theresa Parker's body still has not been found. She was a 911 dispatcher in Walker Co, Ga, at the time of her disapperance on March 21st, 2007.
We may be headed for another trial all over again. While the jury has reached builty verdicts on the lesser charges against Sam Parker, they still have not reached a verdict on the murder charge. At first the jury told the judge they were making progress and were confident they'd be able to reach a verdict. Today they announced that progress seems to have stalled. However, they aren't ready to call it quits just yet.
GUILTY! GUILTY!GUILTY! Sam Parker was JUST FOUND GUILTY OF MURDERING HIS WIFE. Though her body has never been found, I hope this will bring some closure for her family. He was sentenced to life in prison. He was found not guilty on an invasion of privacy charge. I am so relieved. Sam Parker terrorized almost every woman he ever dated and married, as well as their families, and their friends. He is a true animal, that at one time carried a badge. I am so glad this animal is going to a cage where he belongs!
Lol yep. And what's so funny, he was always bragging about what hot **** he apparently thought he was. How women would just "flock" to him, how he had all the power because of his badge, blah blah blah. I'm telling you girl, Sam Parker is the Southern version of Drew Peterson.
There are so many similarities in their cases it's creepy. Both were cops, both had been married multiple times, both were arrested for murdering their wives, they're around the same age, both had histories of domestic violence. It's scary.
It makes you wonder if something has run amuck in the law enforcement community. I'm a big supporter of our men and women in blue. But I have to wonder how it's happening time and time and time again that these psychos somehow wind up passing the psychological testing portion in their quest to become a police officer. The last things guys like this need is a badge and a gun. So I wonder, if the stress of being a cop for so many years turned them into mental cases, or were they that way before they became cops? Either way, something needs to be done.
He thought he was hot ****? That's rich. He looks like the biggest wuss in the world in that photo.Hard to even see him as a cop.
Yeah, big time similarities with the Drew Peterson case. Peterson was slick, though and still is.All this is a big ass joke to him. He'll be winking at ladies in the court room.
Sam Parker is broken and Drew will never be,he's too narcisstic.
