The Continuing Saga of Cynthia Sommer

http://insession.blogs.cnn.com/2009/09/24/freed-widow-of-marine-suing-feds-and-d-a/

I am one of the few people out there who do not believe Cynthia Sommer is innocent. What struck
me about this latest story was how as part of her lawsuit, she wants a court order that murder charges can
never be filed against her again. If she didn't do anything wrong, why is she so worried that they will
refile charges? If Todd Sommer, her Marine husband, really did die of natural causes as she claims,
why is she so worried they'll re investigate and find something?

Here's one of the things about Cindy that struck me. That tattoo. She got a tattoo from the top of her shoulder almst to her elbow of Todd Sommer's name,b-day,death date and the words,"Semper FI".

I know quite a bit about tatts and one, that is TOO big to be covered up without a real hassle. And removal would be beyond expensive and uncomfotable,to say the least.

Why would a guilty woman get a tattoo like that?  I just can't see it. Or is this a case of the Scarlet Letter in reverse?????      evileye

Todd wasn't the only Marine she "loved." She had a major thing for Marines, probably figured that was a great way to get their attn. And it sure worked.

I didn't watch the whole trial but I'm not suprised. She looked like a good time gal.

I have to admit I hope she's innocent. In any case,we should all remember her husband who was a family man and served his country proudly.

RIP Todd Sommer      evileye

So I'm sitting here watching a rerun of 48 Hours on ID, and the story is of Cynthia Sommer... and there were a few things in the story that I had never been aware of that totally cemented for me that she is guilty.

She claims she was holding the cordless phone with one hand while doing CPR.... um how is that even possible? Paramedics claim when they arrived on scene that Cynthia was standing over Todd, not doing anything, and that his body was cool to the touch. Paramedics arrived shortly after she called... if she had called right when Todd collapsed, his body wouldn't have been cool to the touch. She didn't ride in the ambulance on the way to the hospital, she had someone else take her, and on the way to the hospital, she stopped for cigarettes. But the most telling clue to me was that the computer that is shown in the original crime scene photos has magically disappeared. Even though Cynthia did turn over a computer to investigators during the course of the investigation, she forgot to mention that it wasn't the computer that was in the residence the night Todd died (a fact that was discovered too late in the investigation By the time investigators realized it, the computer that had been in the house the night he died was long gone. Cynthia claimed it had somehow been misplaced.) Her defense team makes a major act of pointing out that there is no history of research on her computer that was turned over to NCIS of arsenic poisoning, which is what the prosecution is claiming Todd died of. Well of course there's no history of that on that computer, because it wasn't the computer she owned when her husband died! Within 3 hours of Todd's death she was calling the insurance company asking when she was getting her money.

This "new" info that I have learned only cements for me her guilt. What had originally convinced me of her guilt was her behavior after her hubby's death. I know people grieve in different ways.. but, actions speak louder than words. And her actions seem to celebrate his death, not mourn it. Just a few days after her husband's death she began partying at all hours, hooking up with all kinds of Marines, getting a boob job, getting more tatoos. Not exactly the actions of a grieving wife or a single mother of several kids who needed to collect his insurance policy asap because she "had bills to pay."

And I recently found an article a couple of years old that just further illustrated her outrageous behavior. In 2009, after announcing she was filing a 20 million dollar lawsuit against several people after her conviction was overturned, Cynthia hit the red carpet in Cali at a film festival. After "complaining" that the media hounds her everywhere she goes, she then asked a photographer who was there to shoot pics of the film festival if he knew who she was. She then asked him to take several pictures of her, and he obliged. Then she strolled down the red carpet, ya know, the same one that's used for movie stars and other celebrities? She stopped and posed, and waited for her picture to be snapped, as if she somehow thinks she's now a celebrity. Naturally, people asked who the heck she was and hardly anyone snapped her picture.. much to her shock.

Unfortunately, she remains free, regained custody of her kids, and a U.S. Marine is still waiting for justice. Justice that will probably never come.
