How much time should b served????

I am starting this blog, because i am desperatley seeking help. My 72 year old Aunt (Marrietta "Sandy" Whetnall),  was murdered in her home in Mountain View, in 1999. The suspect was on the run for 8 1/2 years. When he was finally arrested, my mother and myself stopped what little life we had to make sure he was convicted and sentenced to the penatenary. 17 months of fighting this, he was givin a sentence of 10 years for murder and aggervated robbery. Now a mere 18 months later, we have been notified of his upcoming parole. If you don't think 18 months is a fair sentence for taking the life of another, we are asking for your help. Please send a letter to timelyjustice@hotmail.com. We are asking for all who aren concerned that the justice system has been broken, PLEASE submit. My mother and I are the only family left and we will fight for my aunts justice and anyone else who needs our help. Thank you

Thank You so vert much AnnaRocket for your reply. I am not sure what you might need to investigate the case. Basicaaly it was a robbry homicide in a small country town. my aunt was bruttally murdered by numerous stabs to the head. then robbed. Your can find more information on the web. I believe the Stone County Leader Newspaper here in mountain view, arkansas is a web published paper and they had many articles on her investigation. She was one of our very talented musician and was highly respected in our community.
Thank you again for your help and interest in my families situation.

I don't think the system failed her. I believe due the circumstances of the original investigation, this was the best sentence that Danny could have received. I am a 23 year veteran of the Little Rock Police Department and live here in Mountain View. I have quite a bit of knowledge of this case and because of the lousy investigation from the date of the incident, I am surprised anyone was ever arrested for this crime. I spoke with the investigator from Tyronza but have forgotten his name and was trying to get it from Sandy's neice. Anna do you still have contact with Renee?

The only contact I had with her was her original request for us to review her case and contact the parole board. We [myself and another staff member] tried to contact her and were unsuccessful. Even just trying to run it down on the internet didn't yield enough for me to write to the parole board without speaking to her.

If you can get in touch with her, please let me know! I would be more than happy to help if the circumstances are such that my involvement is appropriate.

Thank you so much Brian.       evileye

"partner" no disrespect, and with your many years of service I do not want to put YOU down by no means. However, What your post says " I have quite a bit of knowledge of this case and because of the lousy investigation from the date of the incident, I am surprised anyone was ever arrested for this crime."

So, in my eyes, I wonder if this Danny was a way, just say "Good job done, we got the person" I have seen it to many times, in to many cases. Our legal system has convicted so many for a crime, then DNA showed different.

I have not read anything, on this case. With it being posted here, I think for any of us to have an idea. Could we see more EVIDENCE? More links to read about this case?

How was he determined, to the one that murdered this poor lady?

This is a discussion board and I'd like to know more.

As I said, no disrespect, just seen to many times, when the law want to solve a case, they find a way. Even if they have to cover up ot make up.

I think he is the right suspect. I was just trying to find the Detective from Tyronza that figured it out. The local crime scene was treated in such an unprofessional way that it was going to be a hard case to make. But because of the due diligence of this Detective, a case was made and a conviction entered. No offense taken. This detective had no bone to pick with Danny, I just think it was good police work.

A woman was murdered. Her killer should be be either put to death, or life without parole. I for one don't feel murdererd should ever have a chance of parole. However, we definitely have to be sure the right person is convicted.

Anna, I am new to this web site as you know. Just what is it that you and your site can do to help if Renee came back?

Very simple,Brian.

She asked for people to send letters to the parole board addressing what she thought was an inappropriate sentence in the murder case of her aunt.

I have no problem doing that but I'm not going to go in uninformed.I can't find what I need on the net,the newspaper she mentioned hasn't returned my inquiry. Then you come on saying it might have been the best that it could have been.

Can you blame me for my reluctance, especially since she hasn't come back?      evileye

I understand you hesitation Anna. Don't misunderstand me, I think the man should have gotten a lot more time than he did, but because of the lousy initial investigation of the homicide, this is the all he was going to get. I also know Danny is being looked at for the disappearance of another woman and another homicide. I do not know the status of those investigations.

I will see if I can find out the status of Danny's release and let you know.

Brian

I do find it rather odd Anna. I know when I was seeking your help I haunted this website and flooded you with emails while you were trying to help me. And it's definitely best not to go into any situation, especially one like this, uninformed.

I want to copy this section of the article, I found and I just have a question.

From Jonesboro Sun

Authorities said money may have been a motive in Whetnalls murder. The woman worked at a local tobacco store and often carried home deposits from the business, Simons said. Police allege nearly $2,400 in cash was taken from the home on the night Whetnall was murdered, and that Taylor had an overdrawn bank account in the weeks before Whetnalls murder and had several checks returned by the bank with overdraft fees.

Taylor also allegedly went to pawn shops and check cashing businesses in Independence and Stone counties in the days after the murder.

My question is if the only thing taken from the night of the murder was about 2,400 in cash.
Then why was he in the pawn shop or check cashing store have to do with it? The only thing stolen was CASH no items he could pawn and no checks was stolen?

So how does this prove anything?
He had a over drawn bank account, SO? Did he go off these checks. I don't get it.

Maybe someone can explain this one to me.

I am so very sorry bout being gone so long. my computer crashed. This has been a long hard road' getting everything together for the hearing today. Yes' partner is so very correct. Taylor is being looked at in several different cases. The original investigation was such a screwed up mess, i am still actually suprised there was an arrest. my mother and myself lived 8 1/2 years feeling we knew who had done this, but no arresting facts. Partner, i dont know who you are, but I will go through my information and try to get you the investigators name. I have also been n contact with Poinsett county, which suprise, they r looking at 2 more cases with Taylor a person of interest.

Again, i am so very sorry for putting this out there, then just letting you all hang.
