Hi 420 just i've just been reading about this very sad crime. I feel so sorry for their parents. It seems to me that the police may have dropped the ball a little. As I see it the police went to the home on 2 occasions? and acertained that no one was home. They also indicated that there were no footprints in the snow leading to the door and therefore no sign of entry. If there were no footprints might that have indicated that no one had left the home also? Meaning that the couple may still be inside? What rights of entry or investigation do police in the U S have as far as a 'welfare check' call outs?

I'm with you on the welfare check thing. If I decided to stay home imunicacado and eat chili dogs and watch dirty movies in my underwear,I'd be right mad if someone called a "welfare check" on my ass. Who gets to make the final calls in these cases?

I think what most of us would like to understand, " if a friend after hearing what they did on the other end of your cell phone and when they come to the residents they see it is"ramsacked" at that moment,I'd hope my FRIEND would call 911.....Wouldn't you?

Yes I would hope a friend would call 911. the problem for me would be that my friends know that sometimes I have days where I don't answer the phone and just park-up for the day. They wouldn't think to come and check on me.......maybe I should answer the phone more often.
I certainly hope the police find out who did this. I feel so sorry for the families.

However you know, we are protected under the 4th Amendment, yet there is also a thing as "warrantless entry" which falls under the 4th also with Welfare check" I just think the first time out was 16 min.'s and 26 min.'s on second call. I just think they will be able to understand more after they see the ping's off of this person "Friend" who waited 2 hours to call a friend to have them call the Mother..
So how can a person not in law enforcement be so lucky to search and find.. Not sayin the parents had anything to do with this. I have been out of pocket a few days plus out WiFi is under construction where I am.
