Book review: "Charles Manson Now" by Marlin Marynick

Hanging out in Barnes and Noble not too long ago,I came upon a big thick book with a picture of a VERY aged Charles Manson on the cover,a thick 375 pages long that I could not resist. I picked it up and started to leaf through to find some of the most interesting facts and statements of and made by Manson himself.

Incarcerated in Cocoran State Prison in California in protective custody for the past 63 years in prisons across California and various jails in his misspent youth,Manson lived an existance that any conventional human would not consider much less act on.The crimes he has been accused of include theft, assault, various drug possessions and of course the notorious murders of Sharon Tate and the LaBianca's.

We all know by now that Manson didn't actually participate in the murders, but had a "family" of followers to do his bidding. The author goes through a journey of Manson's mind by getting to know him, visiting him in prison and obtaining a relationship not only with Manson himself but his associates such as Stanton LaVey,grandson of the Church Of Satan,Anton LaVey,the curators of the museum of the estate of Harry Houdini and Manson's theory of "ATWA" standing for "Air,Trees,Water,Animals" to save the planet.

A fascinating read that tells more about Manson than anything I've read including a forward by Manson himself. I strongly recomend picking this book up,it will leave you shaking your head with wonder and horror.        evileye

I just can't bring myself to read much about this man, or his "family." Only thing I want to read about them when they die in jail, or are executed.
