Melissa Jenkins was a beloved single mother, beloved teacher in Vermont who was brutally murdered on Sunday night. And unfortunately, her 2 yr old son saw the whole thing.
Melissa was lured away from her home by a couple who had snowplowed her driveway a couple of years ago. They called her at home requesting help, saying their car had broken down near her home. Melissa had never been comfortable around the husband so she called her ex oyfriend, and father of her son, to let him know where she would be in case something happened. And unfortunately it did. But never one to say to no to someone who needed help, she went.
2 hours later, when her ex boyfriend couldn't reach her, he notified authorities. Melissa's vehicle was found idyling by the side of the road, with her son still safely inside. She was attacked as soon as she got out of her vehicle. Her body was found a short time later. She had been beaten and strangeled. When police interviewed her 2 yr old son, he was able to show them how she was strangeled, and then said "and then mommy cried." He will unfortunately forever have to live with this memory.
2 suspects are in custody, and both have pleaded not guilty. No motive has been released for her murder... other than the husband wanted to "get a girl."

I saw this on CNN.The wife claimed it was never her intention to kill anyone....she said her dude just wanted to kidnap a girl and keep her kind of like a Paul Bernardo/Karla Homolka scenario.I hate to compare anyone to those two jerks but that was honestly the first thing I thought of.
Let's prove guilt/innocence,not let the woman weasel her way out of it because she was under his influence,and put these two on death row. Sick,sad and disgusted. All the victim did was try to help someone out.
What really gets me is that this poor woman had a bad feeling about these 2, the husband especially, and that she called her ex before she left to help them so someone would know where she was... how i wish she had listened to her instincts and simply not gone to help those people.
Please people,if there's one think to be learned,and I think my homegirl Navy will back me up on this and it is GO WITH YOUR GUT!!!!
If you feel uncomfortable with a situation,or something seems off kilter,say no.I'd rather look like the biggest jerk on the planet and keep my life than wind up dead because some shifty freak called me and asked me to help him!
Exactumendo. The poor little boy in this story actually witnessed his mother's murder. I hope since he's only 2 yrs old it's something he will eventually forget. Not forget her, never forget her, just forget the horrible act of violence he had to witness.
Sad that what we as a society have come to is unspeakable cruelty and violence to our fellow man instead of kindess and love,support and generally goodwill towards humanity.
