Many people think that missing person cases never happen in the military, except if a servicemember goes missing overseas during war... and they would be wrong. Just this week two missing person cases have rocked the military, and are a scary reminder that even out brave servicemembers and their families can be victims of crimes on the homefront.
Case#1... the wife of a U.S. Marine went missing last week. This happened in California... and no her husband isn't a suspect. He was deployed at the time she dieappeared, though he was granted emergency leave to come home. Unfortunately, her body was recently found. The hunt is now on for her killer, though they do have 2 suspects in this case.
Case#2... a female U.S. Army soldier disappeared Fri evening from a bar in Fayetteville, NC. Authotiries have said they have enough evidence to know she is in serious danger, and both civilian law enforcement and the U.S. Army are desperately searching for her, hoping to find her before it's too late. She disappeared after going out to a bar fri night. She never made it back home, and failed to report for duty on Monday.
Common theme in these 2 cases: both were young, attractive women, who went out on the town, late at night. Always be aware of your surroundings ladies, and always be ready to defend yourself, even against someone you know, and trust. Sad world we live in, but, that's just how it is.
I didn't see the first but the second,Kelli, had gotten a ride home from an acquaintance, and they are giving the impression something happened to her between where she asked to be dropped off,and where she actually lived.
Same person has been arrested in an unrelated matter.
