Amanda Knox Retrial?

Uh oh... looks like Amanda Knox might not be out of the woods afterall.  Italy's top court is strongly reconsidering reinstating murder charges against Amanda Knox.  I'm thankful I don't live in Italy.  Regardless of whether Amanda is guilty or not, Italy's justice system sounds like it's worse than ours... and their investigation methods seem light centuries behind ours.  And the soap opera continues...

The US will never extradite her to Italy for another round of what the crap in Perugia now? LMAO

Good luck with that one. Sincerely. Amanda's lucky to be back here and she's not going to get thrown in another Italian jail.

Now it's my turn to get bashed. You know,I feel bad for her in a way. I'm sure being in a prison in an overseas country is no day on the green. But with her tell all book being released today with her "Oh poor me! I'm being ever so persecuted!" mug on the cover  she makes it hard to feel TOO bad for her. She's back in the states. Nothing's going to happen.

You know you can do so much damage by opening your mouth and saying one thing.....just one damned thing! And people will bash the crap out of you.Saying she wants permission from the victim's family to see the grave and pay her respects? Whoa there,Knoxy. You are on some thin ice with that kinda talk. And the way she kept putting the focus on herself. "It could have been me" repeated over and again,Amanda....it was not you. You aren't dead. Stop with the "Poor little me".

Still, homegirl can't be feeling too bad with the over 3 million dollars she was paid for the rights to her story. Not exactly chump change. Speaking for myself only, this whole thing has become absolutely ridiculous. She needs to just shut up and thank God she's not still in Perugia. I'd be amazed if she was extradited. I just don't think that will happen, although anything's possible,I guess. Here's your linky.

I was right when I said anything is possible. I didn't think that she could be tried again, but I was thinking of American double jeopardy. Italy is another country, DUH! But they tried her twice and still let her go, when she was freed, she got the hell out of there as fast as she could.

Now MSN is reporting that Amanda Knox, whose case is still ongoing, will have a decision in Italy's highest court next week that might have serious implications that could lead to her being extradited from the USA. Knox and her then boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito were acquitted of the murder of Amanda's roomate Meredith Kercher in 2009. The Italian judicial system then took until 2013 to throw that verdict out saying that the appeals court was inconsistent with the evidence.

I didn't think this country would extradite her. I really didn't and I figured, hell she's home. End of story. But the US and Italy have some history with extradition and political policy that I had no clue about until I read this piece. Super interesting.

This is beautiful and touching.

The family of Merdedith Kercher remembers her as the ongoing legal saga of Amanda Knox continues in both Italy and the US. In an interview with CNN, her brother, sister and parents talk of her sweetness, her love of life and her generous spirit. It has been most difficult for them as I'm sure it would be anyone, not only to have lost someone in such a way but also to have it played out in such an open spectacle with the media blaring out the headlines day in and out.

Meredith was just 21 when she was killed in the villa she was living in with Knox in 2007.

RIP Meredith. You are in a much better place.

From NBC News: Italy's Supreme Court has overturned the conviction of Amanda Knox and her former boyfriend in the 2007 death of her roomate, Meredith Kercher. This means she will not have to go through another trial and possible extradition to Italy. This marks the end of it for her.

I'm sad for the victim's family. I think that they may or may have not believed in Amanda's guilt, but they certainly thought Amanda and possibly Raffaele knew something they weren't saying. Now they know if there was such information, it is highly unlikely they will ever hear it. I read her book [Man.....she was very young and foolish going to a foriegn country like she did. Careless to the extreme] And I read his book [Him I believe 100%.] Homeboy doesn't know jack His family thinks she manipulated and seduced him in 7 days and got him into something bad. Raffaele's sister is [was] in the Carbonari [think Italian FBI] and her career went down the toilet after all this. I'm sure you can guess how she feels about Ms. Knox.

Anyhoo, here's your link.             evileye

MSN/The Guardian: This week Italian media has released a statement through the 52 page "Motivanzioni", saying that the conviction of Amanda Knox was full of "stunning flaws" and explained the reasons for the acquittal of her and her at the time boyfriend, Raffaele Sollicito.

A panel of judges at the cessation in Rome found that the state's case against the pair was who were cleared for good in March, lacked enough evidence to prove their wrongdoing beyond a reasonable doubt and cited a complete lack of biological traces to the crime.

Both Knox and Sollicito served four years before being released.

I remember at the time there was a lot of "innocent until proven guilty" noise but this didn't happen in America,y'all! Having the experience of living in Europe for 4 years myself, I'm very aware that there is a world of difference between our rights and the rights in different countries. The saddest part of all of this is that while Rudy Guede is incarcerated for the murder of Meredith Kercher, no one will be investigated further for this crime and I suspect there was someone else involved.

Link.
