AZ Family.com: Police say 22 year old Mireya Alejandra Lopez drowned her two year old twin sons yesterday [8-30-15] in a bathtub in her Avondale,Arizona home. A third child was saved by family members.
Police say that around noon, the children's grandmother called 911, when first responders arrived, the children were lying on a bed and unresponsive. The third child was uninjured and was not transported for treatment. The father, Sam Avitia, had joint custody of the boys and was scheduled to get them on Friday, said that Lopez had shown signs of depression but had never shown signs of violence or threatened anyone.
An investigation is ongoing and Lopez has been taken into custody.

A woman accused of drowning her twin sons reportedly told police that she did it because she felt no one loved them and she didn't want them to have a difficult life. In addition, she also tried but did not succeed in drowning a three year old boy described as her step brother.
Mireya Alejandra Lopez was arrested Sunday in the Phoenix suburb of Avondale, and has been charged with two counts of first degree murder and one count of attempted murder. She is being held on $2 million dollars bail.
