Stop the blatant Auto Insurance Industry Extortion! - Know your rights – Demand fair treatment!

Insurance companies rip-off their consumers off every day... and make it sound like the practices they apply are fair and unbiased... often, simply by not telling you the whole story and all your options.... especially if there is room for dispute.

1.
Did you know that most insurance carriers are required to use only use certified factory parts (at no extra charge) through their service affiliations?

 2.      Did you know that you could choose who does the repairs? ... With no coaxing or 'steering' to preferred vendors from your insurance carrier?  Was your vehicle or a friends' taken to a specialty shop for your model?

3.     Did you ever ask to find out if the work done has warranty? (To INSURE it was done right) Don't laugh - most don't, or it's short, and rarely extends the manufacture's warranty

 4.     If the repair service assigned (no steering?) does not want to repair/replace some critical items like airbag sensors, did you know you could get an independent collision appraisal that often fixes those issues or brings on average $2000 additional recovery?**An indepth national survey in 2006 by CIC's anti-fraud committee (a national organization of body shops and insurers) found the average loss per claim to be professionally appraised for repair at $5,048, but the average payout by insurers was $2,498 (where a professional appraiser was not brought in for assistance).

5.      If (a) your car was less than six (6) years old, (b) had over $3500 of damage (in Oregon, or in many others states starting at $2500), (c) was not considered a ‘Total-Loss” and (d) the accident was not your fault:  Did you know you may be able to get a check back for the 'diminished' market value? (Don't listen to the insurance company's lies that it just ain't so - we all know the bad Carfax report lowers the marketable value)  **This is one incredibly HOT topic… try googling ‘diminished value’).

 6.      If your car is considered a 'Total Loss', (at least in Oregon), did you know that your insurance company is supposed to provide at least two comparative vehicles of similar model and year (or adjusted) to that within a fifty (50) mile radius of your residence?  (Many adjusters 'adjust' the only parameter that is not supposed to be adjusted... namely location.... to 100-600 miles or more - what bull:  **this is another VERY HOT topic – try goggling ‘Total Loss’)

** Both ‘diminished value’ and ‘Total Loss” cases typically deal with a company named CCC Information Services Group (who dominates 85% of the industry vs. ADP/AutoSource).  Google the words “Total Loss”, “CCC”, or “Diminished value” to see the literally hundreds of cases – turndowns as well as many state awards to both individuals or to relevant policyholders for an entire state (Ouch they say!). See how many the public is winning!  (compared to the paltry few states the industry claims to back this).

 7.     Did you know that as the state law mandates the need for insurance, so it is also true that Insurance policies are regulated by each state’s policy  (and therein lies the rub… to making it a national cause or referendum) ?

Talk this one out with some closest friends (who won’t feel embarrassed that they were duped), and you'll be surprised.  Following shortly after an auto accident, it might be hard to remember at first... the intimidation tactics used:
·         Like getting back on the road quickly (loss of use);
·
To delays in payment (compensation, loss of pay, out of pocket);
·
To not questioning their lowball ‘estimates’ as unbiased (although the evidence is clear to the contrary);
            with questionable validations not offered except by request
·
To following their procedures so issues like the rental car are covered, etc., etc…. or
·         To threaten to cancel / drop your policy should you not comply... (Oh... You forgot eh?)

Now that you know your rights…. Have you gotten your share of the full services entitled to you by the insurance you’ve paid to date?  Don’t be shy…. Be OUTRAGED!! – You probably got ripped off and didn’t know it…… till now!!

Speak up!!.  Justice Junction is the perfect spot to be heard!  Let the insurance companies know, you know you got ripped off before, but now that you’ve been educated, you’re not going to take it anymore!  PlanetFeedback.com, along with many consumer advocacy channels that promote consumer protection, need your voice added to the groundswell if you have been the victim and now want to complain.

Bottom line...Where a few customers can easily be cowed into silence by the threats, badgering, and pages upon pages of meaningless and often false valuations & legal jargon from insurance adjusters and dishonest lawyers, the voices of many will be heard!

Alternately, please feel free to email me your story.
