Christopher Reeve Died

I know this has nothing to do with justice, but it is so sad that Christopher Reeve - famous for the role he played in the movies as Superman - died yesterday.

It's so sad. He fought such a long and brave battle after being paralyzed. He was a living inspiration to so many people. Godspeed his journey home.

Selene, I agree with you , I heard about his death when I woke up this morning, and felt so sadddened by the loss to the world. What a brave, brave, man. He was such a gift to us all. Gave to all the hope that no matter what obstacle we had to face in life, that we could somehow get through it. I feel as though his determination to find a way to walk again, must have been of great comfort and hope to those who suffered daily the same injury that he had. I saw Barbara Walters on Oprah a couple weeks ago, and she said that this was the only person who could bring her to tears after being in his presence, because of his bravery and determination. He will be missed.

I just heard on the news the Congress had passed a bill supporting the cause which Christopher Reeve had testified before Congress about. But today, someone put a hold on the bill because Christopher Reeve was "too outspoken" about stem cell research. The speaker being interviewed reflected that it was sad because passage of the bill would have been a great tribute to "Superman's" courage.

I too hated to hear this news about chris reeve s death.he was indeed a insperation to many others affected with spinal cord and or brain injuries.he showed there is hope for normal life regardless of injury.there is something to look forward to. but tom a large percent of americans have lost one of the most influencil advocatespromoting stem cel research.its not every day a advocate that has a famous name and money to investinto promoting any research that has potential to change for the better the lives of the many that are victims of brain and spinal cord injuries to go from a life of total disability to being able to function in society as a whole person. to still have a somewhat normal life.and there are many out in the world that chris reeve was an model .they could as a example to strive for better life.
