Greetings friends and foes alike. It is I,annarocket bringing you a message from death row.
Many times we have discussed the death penalty.I have made my views clear,so I will not repeat myself. They have not changed. But today, while working on another case of a death row inmate,I came across this site.I did not expect to linger there but something caught my eye.
I read the story of the execution of a man who lingered on death row for so long, his diabetes caused him near blindness,he was nearly paralyzed and suffered multiple heart attacks. In fact,he was wheeled into the execution chamber in a wheelchair.
I ask you to consider this:if we guarentee the right to a speedy trial, why do we not guarentee the same right to a speedy execution? Did he deserve to suffer the way he did? I am sure that many people will say,"Did his victims deserve to suffer?" To you I say:NO. Absolutely not. But neither did he.The makers of this website would say that the death penalty is wrong and that any capital punishment is wrong and inhuman. Many people agree.I am not one of them. But I do not believe this man should have suffered on death row, waiting to be executed, while his loved ones suffered and most importantly, the loved ones of his victims also suffered.
Read this man's story. As friends,as readers,as constituants and supporters of Justice Junction,I thank you.For the first post in seven years I will not sign off with my traditional gremlin face,in memory of the victims of his crimes.
