A few nights ago I was channel surfing and I found a cool game show called Rock And A Hard Place where musicians play for their favorite charities. The heavy metal team [of course!] were playing for an organization called Children Of The Night. The guy described it as being a program to help kids at risk.
He didn't elaborate so I decided to have a look and what I saw was amazing. Children Of The Night is for kids who have found themselves in an at risk situation of prostitution and gives them the help and support they need to get off the streets. They assist with housing, education, food and medical care.
Many times, because of the size of the city I live in and the music I listen to takes me live shows,I see young girls,NOT young women, and I think, does your Mom know you are out here dressed like that? Talking to the aged 30 and over men there, not their age demographic and I honestly wonder,do the have a place to stay? What is the real story here?
When a young person [and that includes young boys too, don't kid yourself]finds themself on the street, they can call this place for help and not be lost and scared. Please join me in supporting this most worthwhile cause. The youth of the nation deserves it.
Anna, you are so right on this one. When I used to work in Hollywood I saw so many young children (yes, children) on the streets. I worked at night so the sights I saw were many times not to be believed. Children of the Night is a great organization and I spent many hours helping kids to find their way there. Thanks for bringing it to everyone's attention.

Always so good to see you,Enigma. How you livin' girlfriend?
The website is amazing and I have to hand it to these people. There are so many kids out there that are just going to head out to Hollywood thinking it's going to be the time of their lives, and not take into account the danger they may encounter.
I hear Stuck talking about disposable children and it is so true. Not just young woment giving birth to babies they do not take responsibility for but also kids leaving abusive or neglectful homes which in my opinion makes them "disposable" as well.
I wish we'd all just grow some balls and realize the youth needs more [and deserves more] than what we are giving them.
