We all know her name. Laurie Bembemnek. The former Milwaukee Police Officer and Playboy Bunny convicted of the murder of her then husband's ex wife. She died yesterday at age 52.
Her death has renewed interest in her case. I personally never believe she did it. I believe she was framed by her husband, who was about as corrupt as a dirty cop could be, and the Milwaukee Police Dept, who, back during the time of the murder, had a national reputation for being a corrupt dept for all the illegal activites that were occuring and swept under the rug within the dept.
She ultimately was convicted of 2nd degree murder and sentenced to 10 years probation. At the time of her death, both she and her family had been fighting to clear her name.
What do you guys think? Did she do it? Or was she framed?
The below link is a link to a website started by Laurie Bembenek's longtime friend, and private investigator. Granted, since he's convinced of her innocence (as are alot of people), this website is slanted in her favor. However, he has produced alot of compelling evidence that does cast large shadows of doubt, and it does contain info concerning the case that the public may, or may not, have ever been aware of. So far, it's pretty interesting.
