Ok,here's my beef with Craigslist. Didn't we just have a case where some whack jobber killed a prostitute and then tried to kill another one?

When are women going to learn that it just isn't safe to advertise like that on Craigslist? Not like being a prostitute is the high paying career anyone's always dreamed of but still. You guys get whet I mean. It always seems to turn out badly. Not to mention the coward hung himself in his cell while awating trial. evileye

Yes we did Anna. His name was Phillip Markoff, and he led a double life: he was a good looking, engaged, med student, about to me married. He was also a psycho who trolled Craigslist looking for women to hurt, and he attacked two women he found on Craigslist, killing one of them. He wound up committing suicide in his jail cell, so, his case never went to trial. But you're exactly right. Craigslist is definitely unsafe in ways.

Active serial killers.....all the time.

It's hard to say how many serial killers are active at any one time. I think there are more spree killers which is to say that a killer will kill someone and then just keep going untill htey are caught.

Craig's list is probably the worst place to advertise services such as massages and other personal *ahem* activities. There's been attacks and all kinds of rip off scams on Craig's list and I wouldn't trust them one bit. evileye

Thanks Anna, it seems really wierd to me that serial killers might become relatively commonplace. I know we have had a few over the years but they tend not to be presented to the public as 'serial killers'. We hear about victims being found but you just don't hear the term serial killer very often.

It's my understanding that your crime rate is lower where you live as well.

Serial killers imply they kill one right after the other whereas one at a time is the definition of someone who kills for his /her own specific reason. evileye
