It was announced today that the body found yesterday in Va was that of missing 17 year old college student Taylor Behl. She was found in a heavily wooded area buried in a shallow grave. I was hoping against hope that she would be found alive. When I saw this on MSNBC I actually yelled at the tv.
Another child cruelly taken from us by some sick scum. I pray not only for Taylor's family but for the police to bring her killer(s) to justice.
Yes Anna it is sickening that yet another young woman was taken by a sick pervert and her life ended..........sigh.... . If anyone saw Oprah on Tuesday, she is starting an ongoing reward fund of $100,000.00 for the info and capture of sexual offenders that have disappeared off the radar. Every Friday she will show more photos on her website of fleeing sex offenders. This all has to stop, and it won't stop until we all get more vigilent.
In the last few weeks a young teen girl went missing in our area, known to be with a female sex offender. When I looked up the offender in the registry, her address was listed in a completely different part of the state than where police records show. If one was getting away with it, how many others were, and still are ? It is important for all of us who have children/grandchildren to pay attention to those around us, not only to protect our own families but the families all around us. If the law cannot protect us from these people, then it is up to all of us to protect our own.
The more I read about this the more suspicious I become of Ben Fawley. He is the 38 year old man questioned in connection with Taylor's dissapearence. He claimed he had a sexual relationship with Taylor but did not hurt her.
He is being incarcerated on connection of charges of possessing child pornography that was discovered while his apartment was being searched for evidence relating to Taylor's dissappearence. It doesn't sound right.
I saw the story on Dateline the other night. At least the police can hold him awhile on the porn issue for awhile and maybe develop some evidence against him in the meantime. My question about this is: since it said he frequents college campus's looking for women, do they know what other campuses, and have women gone missing from any of the other ones ? When someone acts so cool, calm, and collected when questioned by the police, it almost makes me feel as though they've done the act before, and have gotten away with it. I may be way off on that, but this guy is "good". I hope this one doesn't drag on and on like some do.
The fact that he had pics on his computer of the place they then went and looked and located her body wreaks too. I just hope that he hasn't gotten away with others, whose families have been waiting for justice for years. On the one hand it would bring them closure, yet, on the other hand the years of pain and suffering they have endured must be beyond our comprehension.
No I'm not saying he is a Ted Bundy--God, I hope he isn't--but, it would seem that if he hung out at college campuses ( report didn't say which ones ) that the wise thing for police to be doing would be checking out crimes against females at campuses in the area. Could be a pattern. Absolutely she could be the one and only, but I guess we are being blasted with so much horror ---repeat crimes against children and females ---lately that it seems logical that he may have done it before. Maybe I need to lay off the news for awhile !!! Anyway, it was just a thought.
