That is an excellent question and I've wondered the same thing. Possibly it was an expensive undertaking and Mike's family didn't have the resources for that [meaning money] and from what I understand, the KBI wasn't involved. I could be wrong about that though.

This has been one of our most talked about and viewed topics because Mike was,by all accounts such a warm and genuine person and Chad and Shannon Floyd had a pretty bad reputation and are widely believed to be responsible for whatever happened to Mike. 

There is a forum for this case on the site Topix that you can go to, I'm not a member but they get into it pretty good.
