Sometimes they just don't learn... some of you may remember the original, bizzare case. In 1984, a young world athlete was kidnapped while on a training run for a biathalon by a "mountain man and his son" in Big Sky, Montana. She was eventually found, though she was shot during her rescue, and another rescuer was killed. Her kidnappers were caught and convicted and sent to prison, and she went on to win a bronze medal in the world biathalon championships. Her name was Kari Swenson. The reason given for her abduction was that the father wanted to find a bride for his son and start their own tribe.
Well, it seems the son just didn't learn. After getting out of prison he continued with his life of crime, and is now on the run, with a federal arrest warrant having been issued on him on numerous drug and weapons charges. Ironically enough, it comes just as his father is up for parole on the 1984 abduction case. He is very dangerous, let's hope he's caught soon.
Yes I was searching for this story after in July last year a local girl here in Denver went missing near the front range area and the story came to mind.I am now going to read this one! TY
