It was a weird case that attracted international headlines. It was even the subject of a major Hollywood movie starring Meryl Streep. And now, after 32 years, a court has officially ruled on the Austrailian case that captured the world's attention: 9 week old Azaria Chamberlain was indeed taken and attacked by a dingo (a wild Austrailian dog.) The court came this ruling based on a coroners official findings.
Initially, the child's mother was the prime suspect in her baby's disappearence, was charged with murder, and jailed for 3 yrs before eventually being released.
My only question: Azaria's body was never found, so, I don't know how the coroner reached these findings? Still, I've never believed the mom killed her baby.
It's a possible scenario hon. Here in the states (can't remember the last time it happened), there have been cases where small children were attacked, and I think in at least one case, carried off, by a bear while on family camping trips.
