I'm glad this family found justice after so many years. I also find the story interesting as we may sometimes forget, or not be aware of, that DNA technology keeps advancing. People today consider techniques for evidence gathering and processing at the top of technology today, which it is. But who knows where we can be in that in 50 yrs? it would make today's methods look almost prehistoric.
I do wonder though if this new technology is still a little too new, and will it hold u p in a court of law?
I think if we had the funding the government uses on stupid crap and spent it on trying to catch the right perps and serve the appropriate sentences, that might help, for a start.
As far as what we DO have? It is a million miles from back in the day.Think of the crimes that could have been solved....The Black Dalia Murder? [Elizabeth Short was her name] I still think the JonBenet case could have been solved if the cops had gotten the right DNA on that. I could go on and on but yeah,I totally agree. And science is evolving just like everything else. I personally can't wait to see how we evolve!
