Ok... I don't mean to sound mean about this.. but... here's the jist of things.  An American woman who was vacationing in Turkey, mostly to persue her hobby of photography has vanished.  She was supposed to return home to New York on Jan 22. But she never made it.  Her father went to pick her up from the airport, and waited for hours for her to arrive, but she never showed.  She originally was supposed to vacation in Turkey with a friend, but the friend couldn't make it, so she went on her own.  According to her family, she fell out of contact last Monday and no one has seen or heard from her since.  Some of her family members are now on their way to Turkey to look for her. Good luck with that.

Ok, here's my thing... why on earth would a woman... an American woman especially...travel to that part of the world, on her own?  American women are not very well accepted in that part of the world.  And it's just plain stupid for a woman to travel anywhere, especially a foreign country, on her own.. especially to a country that not only doesn't look very fondly on American women, but also has ties to terrorism.

While I hope and pray for her safe return, I highly doubt she is even still alive.  If she is, she's being held prisoner, and lord knows what she's being forced to go thru. My heart goes out to her and her family.. especially her husband and children.
