It's the stuff Hollywood legends-and movies- are made of: a beautiful girl... a brutal crime...a taunting killer that was never caught, and it all happened where movie stars are made.
Elizabeth Short was a beautiful aspiring actress who fell victim to the bad side of Hollywood when she was brutally murdered in the 1940's. Her murder shocked the world as the world wasn't used to that kind of horrific crimes in the 40's... she was maimed, murdered, dismembered, and left out in the open for all the world to see. Her killer was never caught.
Now, decades later, a retired LAPD detective has found possible new forensic evidence in the case... and the evidence leads straight to his own father. Link to story is below:
My bad,Babycakes. I saw what you were talking about. What did you make of all that? How could they have overlooked that for all those years? I mean, come on. I know we had no DNA and forensic pathology like we do now,but nevertheless......lay it on my Mama. What's the 411?
I don't know... I know there was a lot of innuendo, rumors, cover ups, etc. And it all wound up screwing up the case. Regardless of all that, it's sad that she was so brutally murdered, and humiliated in the worst say possible, and has yet to see any justice. Not to mention, how do we know that her killer didn't kill others? Good possibility her killer at least harmed others if not more.
Yeah back in the day is was soooo much easier to get away with stuff than now and people were easy to just "fade away". Transients, drifters,"hobo",etc.
We'll see where this one goes, but sadly I suspect nowhere.
