In 2011 the WM3 was finally granted their freedom thru an alford plea... where they had to plead guilty, and were sentenced to time already served, while maintaining their innocence for a brutal crime commited in a small town in Arkansas not far from the Tennessee border in 1993. It has long been a mission for justice junction to help free the WM3. Well just because they now have their freedom that doesn't mean mission complete. There are two really big missions left to see thru before we can really say mission complete.
The WM3 might be free, as I said, but their names aren't cleared yet. Their names have to be cleared. But before justice can ever really be served in this case, the real killer(s) who brutally murdered 3 little boys in May of 1993 must be caught, and they must be punished.
In trying to free the WM3 a MOUNTAIN of evidence was uncovered pointing to the stepfather of one of the 3 little boys and the man who provided his alibi as having been the real killers. While no physical or forensic evidence ever connected to the WM3 to the crime or the crime scene, there is a ton of it connecting the stepfather and his partner in crime. Yet for some reason, neither the state of Arkansas nor the West Memphis Police Department are persuing this case any further.
In light of the upcoming 20th anniversary of the brutal murders of Stevie Branch, Michael Moore, and Christopher Byers, I urge all of our members to contact the West Memphis PD and the state of Arkansas and compel them to bring the real killers to justice. What if it was your child? Would you want your child's killers to walk because of a corrupt small town judicial system who now flat out refuses to investigate the murders of 3 children?
Damien Echols, one of the WM3 who finally won his freedom, is releasing a new documentary related to these events. It's entitled West Of Memphis, and it will be released March 15, 2013.
Sometimes the Hulu site gives me drama and will just post links to the home page. Type "West Of Memphis" in the search engine and it will bring up the trailer. I had someone screen this for me at Sundance who said it was beyond reproach. And it's someone who isn't scared of me.
Sometimes links to Hulu don't post so type in "West Of Memphis" in the serch engine. It has the hookup.
