Infant Found Dead With Sister At Oregon Resort, Mother Missing

Portland, Oregon: A hotel housekeeper found a two year old girl dead and her 13 year old sister critically injured in a resort park hotel Friday and are looking for the mother of the two, 40 year old Jessica Smith of Goldendale, Washington.

Cannon Beach police chief Jason Schemmerhorn has asked for the public's assistance in locating the mother, and have indicated that she is a person of interest. She is believed to be driving a 2007 gold Chevrolet Suburban, Washington license plate APX 3141.

Smith's husband had recently filed for divorce and she had filed for but denied a restraining order against her spouse. He was questioned by authorities but not labeled a person of interest or a suspect at this time.

Update: Jessica Smith has been taken into custody and charged with aggravated murder and attempted aggravated murder in the death of her 2 year old daughter and her 13 year old sister.

Frankly, I was hoping to hear she was safe and not responsible for this. Nobody wants to hear a mother might be responsible for the murder of her kids. no
