This week a former Baltimore Ravens cheerleader named Molly Shattuck plead guilty to the charge of 4th degree rape of a 15 year old boy, after being indicted on nine counts stemming from episodes around Labor Day of last year. Fourth degree rape is a Class C felony and can carry a up to 15 years in prison. According to the Baltimore Sun, Molly saw the young man's photo's on Instagram and contacted him, communicating on line before meeting in person.
If you believe the reports, Molly is quite the socialite and has done charity work for the American Diabetes Association, Baltimore School for the Arts, and the American Heart Association. Pretty nice. Her former husband is Mayo Shattuck III, the CEO of Exelon, the energy conglomerate that makes some serious money and and cashes out in the millions of dollars, according to Forbes Magazine.
So what exactly would make someone like Molly have an illicit affair with a 15 year old kid, who it is alleged was a friend of her son, also aged 15? This is up for debate among the internet haters and judgemental housewives everywhere. Molly met with this young man [his name has not been released due to his status as a minor] and had oral sex with him in her car and at a vacation home after providing alcohol for her kids and friends. I don't know what her frame of mind was at the time of this incident but man! I can't imagine what the hell was going on in that house if that was the avenue she went down. Her husband has since been granted a divorce and I'm sure her kids are in pretty bad shape since their names are being rammed into the internet everywhere. [yes I know I'm not helping them] But if we look a little closer, I think that we have a bigger issue. The increase of these kind of stories where women are victimizing young men are becoming more and more frequent. This is some kind of mental breakdown that damaged women are repeating over and over to validate themselves. There's something severely wrong with this situation. It isn't a "Hey dude! High five for banging that lady!" It's wrong. And somewhere, some time down the line, that mental high five is going to manifest itself in a way that isn't going to be good at all.
Molly Shattuck will be sentenced in August for her plea in this case.
Former NFL cheerleader Molly Shattuck has been sentenced as part of her plea deal in the 4th degree rape case she was charged with back in June. She will have to serve 48 weekends in jail, pay $10,650 in restitution and register as a sex offender. This means every other weekend, for the next two years, she will have to go to jail, and spend her weekend there. At the end of the weekend she'll get to go home, so I can't say that this is as bad as actually being locked down 24/7.
If you're in jail [and thank God, I never have been,] I think it's a whole lot worse. You don't get to go home at the end of the weekend to your family. You are IN THERE. The end! Coming and going is not an option for most people convicted of a sex offense. They are in there and that's it! But not Molly. She'll be in there from Friday to Sunday, and then home at night.
She will have to register as a Tier II convicted sex offender and that comes with a whole lot of problems that she will have to re-adjust her life for. She will have to register for 25 years and that requires semiannual verification which will by no means be easy. According to law, she isn't allowed contact with anyone under the age of 18 except her children, isn't even able to use social media due to her new status. Just reading comments and feedback, most people think she got off easy, and that if this had been a man, the penalty would have been much harsher.
Someone sent me this. I'm not even going to get into it. Obviously it was written before all this and after the fact people have jumped on the bash wagon with a vengence. I'm not going to do that but the fact is, she pled guilty to 4th degree sexual assault and has been sentenced.
Read for yourself what she threw away with both hands.
PS: Don't bother trying to access her website, it's in maintence mode and probably will be for a while. She needs a good pr person to do damage control for her.
From MSN: Baltimore County State's Attorney Scott D. Schelenberger has said he will re-examine allegations between former Ravens cheerleader and fitness author Molly Shattuck and the victim in Owens Mills.
"We have to reach out to the victim's family to see where they are on this," he told the Baltimore Sun. "We need to look at the facts in what happened in Baltimore County."
What the.....I had to ask my lawyer what that meant and you gotta read the whole link to get it but basically, what happened is that she drove him over the county line to do what she did with him. I'm not going into detail about that. The link will do that for you. They can file charges in that county as well.
