H.H. Holmes, the man known for killing between 27 and 200 people at the time of the 1893 Chicago World's Fair is getting the big screen treatment by director Martin Scorsese [Goodfellas, Casino, The Wolf Of Wall Street] and starring Leonardo DeCaprio.
Based on the book by Erik Larson, "The Devil In The White City: Murder,Magic And Madness At The Fair That Changed America", the movie will tell the story of how Holmes became arguably the most prolific serial killer of the 21st century. The story involves both Holmes and the architect Daniel H. Burnham, who built with Holmes his "Murder Castle" on fair grounds which was reputed to have rooms for murdering people in different manners and and disposing of their bodies.
There is some smack talk.....another serial killer movie? Is this necessary? Can't this guy make anything else besides bloody gory cinema? That kind of thing. But this is the same director who made The Godfather and the same actor who starred in Titanic. I say give it a chance.
