I watched Nancy Grace tonight, and her panel of 'experts' and they pretty much as the mother of this missing baby tried and convicted for his murder, when no body has been found and the mother is now dead and can't answer any questions. I usually like Nancy Grace, but I think she has gone too far with her assumptions in this case.
Because the mother of the child had run an ad selling the baby's car seat, Nancy has jumped to the conclusion that she planned to kill the little boy. Not all baby seats convert to a toddler booster seat. But Nancy wouldn't know that since she has no children. The car seat in my car for my grandchildren does not convert to a booster seat, for example.
Nancy's just getting slammed for this. I was in the hospital doing nothing but getting channel surfer's cramp. I can't say if I blame her but....once again a crap state of affairs.
If this child is dead, I don't suppose we will ever know for sure if his mother had anything to do with it.
I like Nancy Grace, and I rarely miss her show. ut sometimes, she does come on a little strong. I appreciate her advocacy on behalf of children and victims...she sometimes lets her mouth override her judgment though.
The internet has certainly been abuzz with people on both sides of the fence on this issue.
I don't think it was Nancy Grace's job to grill this woman in the manner she did, but then, I can't stand Nancy Grace, so you won't see much compassion on my part toward Nancy. In my opinion she is so full of herself and her track record while an atty., that she feels she is 10 foot tall and bullet proof when it comes to how she operates her show. I guess what makes me maddest about this is that after Mommy killed herself, Nancy accepted no blame because the show hadn't aired yet .....HUH ? I don't think it matters when the show aired, it matters what was said to Mommy during the interview. That was a lame answer to a serious question.
Some days I feel like Mommy did it, and the next day I don't, so I am a definite fence sitter--although I haven't gotten caught up for todays reading yet. Maybe something happened that I don't know about yet !!!
I was talking to someone about this and the general opinion was that Nancy, with her fan base and reputation is untouchable. I don't know if the mom had anything to do with this but if I was Nancy,I would have skipped the spotlight and gone for a judicial career. She's certainly judgemental enough for it. Somewhere out there is a gavel with her name on it.
Anna I hate to think that she is untouchable on this. But, you're probably right. It probably can never be proven that she directly caused Melinda to kill herself, but it just seems as though she should in some way be held accountable through her network or somewhere for the "treatment" of Melinda. It was inexcusable.
How bad would you hate to go before her in court if she were a judge ? !!!
