Hi I'm new here so bare with me if I mess up. I live in Ontario Canada, only 10 minutes away from the place where Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka (The Evil Within ) murdered and dismembered 14 year old Leslie Erin Mahaffey. It seems like the truth about this case just gets worse and worse. Karla Homolka is being released on July 5, 2005 which would have been Leslie Mahaffey's 29th birthday. I can't believe something can't be done to show respect for Leslie and her family by changing the day by just a week . Does anyone here follow this case?
Sorry everyone I was just reading on the other page that you too have heard of this sick justice. Also the other day the local paper says that all violent/sex related offenders must register their DNA with the police. Lucky Karla killed those girls before 2000 or they would have her DNA on record. Can you imagine if someone got ahold of it and CLONED her????????
Welcome to Justice Junction. I am the author of The Evil Within,Anna Griffy,and I have followed this case for several years. I think this is one of the greatest miscarraiges of justice I have ever seen. Karla deserves to be in prison for the rest of her life for what she did. She was just as guilty as Paul and I truely believe that she was more involved in the crimes than she let on.
Living in Canada you have more perspective on how people in Canada feel about Karla and her impending release. How do they feel? Will you post and tell me?
Hi Anna,I am originally from S.Ontario and am appalled that this women will be let free next spring...they should open this case again and find her guilty and to give her a life sentence like her ex.But I`m afraid that the Canadian gov`t won`t say they were wrong!!
Anna I would be more than glad to keep you up to date with my neighbourhood s feeling about Karla. I have never heard anything positive about her coming back into our midst. She's right up there on the hate scale with Charles Manson. I do remember a story about her going shopping in the local grocery store and being spit at and told to rot in hell. To me it doesn't matter if she killed those girls, she destroyed them just the same. I personally do not believe one can change from a completely moral person into a sick pervert overnight, no matter how many times you are abused. I don't take any of the guilt away from Paul, but Karla sacrificed her own sister. I've heard that serial killers turn their victims into objects, but how can you be sitting and watching your own sister die and not feel anything?? I even was told Paul reacted more "humanely" after the ambulance was called than Karla did. At least he had some emotion for Tammy. Where were Karla's tears???????
It is common knowledge that if she comes back into our area she is a moving target. She has shown no remorse and i think that was the last nail in her "coffin" for Niagara residents. I will keep you up to date with any newspaper articles locally.
That would be great Christeen,I really am interested in seeing how this whole thing turns out. Karla is scum,in my opinion. I absolutely can not stand her. She could have let Kristen go yet she did NOTHING. I really believe she had more to do with the deaths than she let on. She's a lying sociopath and frankly,I hope she rots in hell. Please do keep me posted,I'd like to see where she winds up upon her release.
